Prof. Dr. Jay Garfield ist Professor für Philosophie am Smith College, Northampton, USA. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind u.a. buddhistische Philosophie und interkulturelle Hermeneutik. Von 2015-2016 ist er im Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Professor für Geisteswissenschaften und Leiter des Studiums der Philosophie am Yale-NUS-College.
